Victoria Day 2010 – Wabamun Lake, Alberta, Canada

One of my life long goal is to get a house with a natural lake view.

Wonderful road trip to Wabamun lake, this provincial park is  one of the greatest fishing location here in Canada. It was absolutely sweet!

We did a family shot with the Hayes family! (well, most of the shots were of Mary haha…) Here is a quick look in one of the shots.
More to come.

Here are couple of shots I took few weeks ago in this place that unfortunately I don’t remember the name.
17-55mm f2.8 remains to be my only lens left after selling both sigmas and the 18-70mm kit lens.
But this lens is surely enough for most occasions. The results are pretty stunning.

One thing I don’t understand about Canada – Why do they use sand instead of those artificial plastic pads thing?

This was pretty funny

Loving it

.

17-55mm f2.8 is golden!

Oh, people are stealing my photos and removing my watermarks, looks like I will have to do something slightly smarter to protect my copy rights.

Here i would like to introduce my first clients – Alison and Pete, being in my first official photo session.
It started out as a gloomy Saturday morning and we had to wait for a while before the clouds start clearing out.
So here are my favorite picks, the rest will be uploaded to my photo gallery soon :)

Went and see my supervisor today. Got my paper back, got lot of points need to be improved – Hopefully it will keep me busy next week.
Anyway, here are the last sets of photos from Pauline and Regina’s Baptism.
I sincerely think that I just took my photography skills onto the next level; pretty happy about it.

Again, all shots taken with THE 18-70mm f3.5-4.5.

I really enjoy shooting 7 frames per second (my old pentax K200D only does 2.8fps…orz), very neat, even with a kit lens.

Philip. and old lady just bumped into my screen by a mere coincidence; her blurred presence made my photo more dynamically 3D.
Sometimes photography DOES require luck.

Regina, pretty happy. LOVING THIS EFFECT MY GOSH.

I will zip up the group photos later with a password.
It was fun.

16Ben-Shirley-Wedding

Right, It was January 23rd. The day my precious Pentax K200D died on me; it died at least, shamelessly, gloriously, and peacefully.
It was a memorable moment. (Despite the FACT that the camera is only ONE YEAR OLD!)

Well I was slightly disappointed on Pentax and my bad luck, but oh well – It had been months and I got over it.
Lets take a quick peek  at the last few works my K200D did on Ben and Shirley’s Wedding

I am not too sure if I should consider Ben and Shirley’s wedding as my first OFFICIAL wedding shoot, but oh well.
Consider me just as any photographer.

Thats about it for now :)
P.S. I think there were about 20mins before my K200D died during a photo bursting mode…of 2.8frames per second. (now my D300s can do 8fps)

Min focus point 7.9 inch!

Sigma
82mm…zzzz

Calgary Trip

Muhahahahhaa

Diffusion Model
Model
Diffusion

Diffusion 2

Parameter Z = Initial Boundary , Zero
Parameter A = Top Boundary Threshold
Parameter O = Bottom Boundary Threshold
Parameter U = Drifting Parameter
Parameter S^2 = Variance of Drift

Variance
Difting Parameter
Variance

Observe

Getting a Nikon D300s soon!  I was originally planned to get a D300 instead to save around 500 bucks, but after considering the essential importance of the two year Canadian warranty and some minor upgrading functions, I will get the D300s instead (Got a pretty good bargain from a seller in Calgary).
While still haven’t sold all of my pentax lenses, I guess I wont be buying too many lenses for Nikon till after my flight back to HK
Here is a little list of lenses of interest.

Most likely I will be getting a nikkor 17-55mm or tokina 11-16mm for (ultra)wide first; then a 70-200m Little Black V; and finally a 35mm f2/f1.8
But of course again restricted by my limited budget, it will take quite a while….
And right, and I will be getting a SB800 back in HK

Let’s see how This Pro level camera facilitates my photography experience.
